After fermentation, the wine was aged in 60% new French oak for 10 months. It was then aged another 8 months in bottle before its release in the spring. The grapes all came from the Sumac Slope vineyard, situated within the Okanagan Falls Sub Geographical Indicator. This vineyard is a beautiful southwest facing amphitheater where the vines are planted in a north-south semi-circle, thereby receiving the full extent and benefit of the Okanagan sun until late afternoon.
Ruby in colour, with an intense nose of black cherry, plum, and spice, the full bodied palate shows elegance and balance with crisp acidity and plenty of ripe red fruit, leather, and spice.
Pairs beautifully with cedar plank salmon, a roasted rack of lamb, and flatbread pizzas.
