Wild Goose Winery, nestled in the heart of Okanagan Falls, is seeking a passionate and experienced Estate & Hospitality Manager (Successor) to join our team.
With our current Manager set to retire at the end of 2025, this role presents a unique opportunity for a hospitality leader to train alongside her during the 2025 season and step fully into the position in 2026.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of our estate grounds and delivering an exceptional guest experience across our tasting room, bistro patio, picnic area, and guest house. It requires strong team leadership, a guest-first mindset, operational excellence, and alignment with our brand values. Schedule Overview:
- To end of 2025:
- Approx. 24–30 hours per week, based on operational needs.
- Starting February 1, 2026:
- Seasonal full-time schedule
- Part-time: December 1 – March 31, with 6 weeks off during annual closure (Dec 15 – Jan 31)
- Full-time: April 1 – November 30
Key Responsibilities:
- Estate & Facilities Oversight: Manage maintenance and presentation of the tasting room, patio, picnic area, landscaping, and guest house; ensure safety compliance.
- Guest Experience Leadership: Lead the hospitality team to deliver exceptional service and engaging winery experiences.
- Daily Operations: Oversee staffing, scheduling, and execution of tastings, tours, and private functions.
- Charcuterie Program: Develop and maintain a seasonal food program in collaboration with Burrowing Owl’s culinary team.
- Wine Sales & Club Growth: Support sales and membership through relationship-driven service and storytelling.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor staff while fostering a positive and professional workplace culture.
- Sales & Merchandising: Manage retail displays, inventory, and staff training; analyze sales data to drive performance.
- Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate strong connections with guests, wine club members, and VIPs; respond to feedback professionally.
- Event Management: Plan and execute winery events and private functions in partnership with marketing and culinary teams; lead on-site event coordination.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hospitality leadership experience; winery or tourism experience preferred.
- Proven ability to lead, train, and inspire seasonal teams.
- Strong understanding of customer service, sales strategy, and team development.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and winery POS/operations systems.
- Adaptable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Comfortable lifting up to 35 lbs (case of wine)
- Ability to detect wine aromas and flavours for quality assurance purposes
